Michigan Mountain Bike Racing: 2015 Big M Challenge – Expert Men 40-49

I participated in the 2015 Big M Challenge again this year in Manistee, Michigan. This is one of my favorite trails in the west side of the state, and racing there tends to suit me pretty well. There’s a couple of hills, the toughest of which you meet in the first 10 minutes of the race lap. At about 3 minutes, it’s probably one of the longest sustained climbs on any of the trails I ride regularly, too.
Outside of an early slide-out, I raced this pretty well. I was able to trail a teammate for most of laps 2-4 which made it a ton of fun. I ended up in 11th out of 21, which is a really good finish for me.
