Some simple steps to remove cable and replacing:
1. loosen screw on derailer to allow cable to come free.
2. Remove screw on handle bar shifter and pull out old cable
3. Feed in new cable.
4. Tighten at derailer location
5. Replace cap screw on handle bar shifter
